03 / HOW TO SIGN YOUR P
How to Sign Your PDF
To sign a PDF using this tool, first upload the PDF file you need to sign. The file must be a single PDF, no larger than 50 MB, with up to 500 pages. The browser checks these limits before anything else.
Next, create your signature in one of three ways: draw it in the box with your mouse or finger, type your name to have it rendered in an italic serif style, or upload a PNG or JPEG image of your signature. Once you have your signature, you can place it on the document.
Placing a signature is simple: click on the page preview at the spot where you want the signature to appear. Each click drops the signature at that point at a fixed size. You can place between 1 and 50 signatures on the document.
04 / WHAT HAPPENS TO YO
What Happens to Your File
This tool runs entirely inside your web browser. The PDF is processed using PDF code running within the tab itself. Because nothing is uploaded, your file is not stored anywhere. When you close the tab, the working copy is discarded.
There are no settings to change. The tool does exactly one job: placing a visible signature image onto your PDF. There is no progress percentage shown while it works because there is no server-side processing to wait for.
05 / IMPORTANT LIMITATI
Important Limitations
This tool is not for creating digital signatures. It stamps a picture of your signature onto the page. It does not create a cryptographic or digital signature, and it does not produce a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS. If you need any of those, you must use a certified provider.
Also, you cannot adjust the signature after placing it. The placement is a click, not a drag. The signature is not dragged across the page or resized once it lands. There is no way to remove a single misplaced signature. If you place a signature in the wrong spot, the only way to correct it is to start over with a new PDF upload.
06 / WHEN THINGS GO WRO
When Things Go Wrong
If you place a signature incorrectly, you will need to begin again. Since individual placements cannot be removed, the tool does not list placed signatures in a sidebar as an editor or form builder would. The cleanest way to fix a mistake is to upload the PDF again and redo all signatures.
If your PDF fails to upload, check that it is in the correct format and within the size and page limits. The tool accepts only one PDF file at a time, no larger than 50 MB, and no more than 500 pages. If the file exceeds these, rerun the process with a smaller or shorter PDF.
FAQ
Common questions
What file formats can I upload for my signature?
You can upload a signature image in PNG or JPEG format. The PDF itself must be in PDF format.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser tab. The file is never uploaded, so nothing is stored on any server. Closing the tab discards the working copy.
Can I remove one signature and place it elsewhere?
No, individual placements cannot be removed. Once you place a signature, it cannot be resized or moved. To fix a misplaced signature, you must start over with a new upload.
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
No. This tool stamps a visible image of your signature. It is not a cryptographic or digital signature, and it is not a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS. For those, you need a certified provider.
How large can my PDF be?
The PDF must be up to 50 MB and no more than 500 pages. These limits are checked in your browser before processing.
Can I resize the signature after placing it?
No, you cannot. The signature lands at a fixed size and cannot be resized or dragged after placement. If you need a different size, you would need to adjust the signature image before uploading or draw a different size.
