03 / CREATE A PDF FROM
Create a PDF from Photos
Capture pages one by one with your device camera or choose image files from your device. You can mix both: shoot some pages and add others from your photo library. The app accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP, and you can select several files at once.
Every captured page appears as a thumbnail in a list. Use the up and down buttons to reorder them—essential if you photograph double-sided pages out of sequence. The remove button deletes any page you don't want. There is no limit on the number of pages, so a full contract or report is fine.
Select the processing mode before capturing or importing: colour, greyscale (default), or black-and-white. This choice cannot be changed once the PDF is created, so decide before you start.
04 / HOW SCANNING WORKS
How Scanning Works in Your Browser
The entire scanning process happens inside your browser tab using PDF code that runs locally. Your images never leave your computer, so nothing is uploaded to a server. Because nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored—closing the tab discards the working copy and leaves no file behind.
Each image is cleaned up: its longest edge is reduced to at most 2000 pixels, which keeps text legible at A4 while avoiding an unnecessarily large file. Each page is re-encoded as PNG, so even WebP or JPEG photographs are converted into a consistent, high-quality page format.
The black-and-white mode finds the black and white points from the page itself, so photographed paper that has shadows or backlighting does not come out grey. This gives sharper, more readable text than a simple threshold.
05 / STEP-BY-STEP INSTR
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the tool in any modern browser tab. Your camera view is displayed live, with a capture button below it. Frame the page and press capture. Alternatively, click the file picker to select images already on your device—you can choose several at once.
After capturing or adding images, use the thumbnails list to review: reorder with the up/down buttons, or remove any page you don't need. Each image is checked in the browser and must be 50 MB or smaller; larger files are rejected before processing starts.
When your pages are ready, generate the PDF. The tool runs in the tab and shows no percentage, but processing is usually quick. After creation, you will have a multi-page PDF ready to save or share.
06 / WHAT THIS TOOL CAN
What This Tool Cannot Do
The tool is built solely to turn photos of pages into a PDF. It does not add text layers or anything searchable, so the output is a scanned-image PDF. It also cannot combine this PDF with other PDF files or edit an existing PDF.
There are no settings to adjust—options are limited to processing mode and page order. If you need features like contrast sliders, crop controls, or DPI selection, this tool will not provide them.
Quality is deliberately balanced for readability: the fixed maximum of 2000 pixels per longest edge is a compromise between file size and legibility at A4. If you need very high-resolution output for fine print or graphics that don't fit this profile, this may not be the right choice.
07 / TROUBLESHOOTING AN
Troubleshooting and Common Issues
If you get an error that an image is too large, know that the limit is 50 MB per image. Most phone photos are smaller, but high-resolution captures can exceed it. Resize the image on your device before importing.
If a page appears too dark in greyscale or black-and-white, lighting was poor. Rephotograph with more even light and avoid shadows across the page. The black-and-white mode helps with typical photographs, but reflective or textured paper may still cause uneven results.
Ensure your camera is held steady to avoid blur. If you are photographing a book or document, flatten the page as much as possible to avoid distortion. There is no automatic page detection or cropping, so centre the page in the camera view.
If your pages are out of order, use the reorder buttons before generating. There is no undo for removing a page, so re-capture or re-import it if you accidentally delete it.
08 / PRIVACY AND FILE H
Privacy and File Handling
Because scanning happens entirely in your browser, your images and the final PDF never leave your device. This tool does not upload, store, or access your files on any server.
When you close the tab, any temporary working data is discarded. The only way to keep the PDF is to save or download it before closing.
For sensitive documents, working in local processing means you can use this tool offline, on a private network, or on a shared computer without leaving traces of your document on someone else's machine.
FAQ
Common questions
Does this tool upload my photos to a server?
No. All processing is done locally in your browser tab. Your images are never uploaded, so nothing is stored on any server. The file stays on your device until you close the tab, at which point the working copy is discarded.
What is the maximum file size for each image?
Each image can be up to 50 MB. Larger files are rejected with an error. Most phone photos are well under this, but high-resolution images from a camera may need to be resized first.
How can I reduce the file size of the resulting PDF?
The tool automatically reduces each page so its longest edge is at most 2000 pixels, which helps keep the file size moderate. For smaller size, choose black-and-white mode instead of greyscale or colour. This reduces file size by removing unnecessary color information.
Why does the text in my PDF look grey even when I selected black-and-white?
Black-and-white mode finds black and white points from the page itself. If the original photo has washed-out contrast or poor lighting, the points may be miscalibrated. Ensure even lighting and a high-contrast original. If the problem persists, try greyscale mode instead.
Can I use WebP images or do I need to convert them first?
You can use WebP images directly. The tool accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP, and it re-encodes each page as PNG internally, so input format does not affect output quality. No prior conversion is needed.
Is there a limit to the number of pages I can scan?
There is no page limit. The tool processes as many images as you provide. However, each individual image must be 50 MB or smaller.
