Rotate PDF

Use this tool to permanently rotate pages in a PDF file at 90°, 180°, or 270°. It works entirely in your browser tab—the file is never uploaded anywhere. You can rotate every page at once or only specific pages.

03 / HOW TO ROTATE A PD

How to Rotate a PDF

Select the PDF file you want to rotate (one file, up to 50 MB and 500 pages). Then, in the text box, type the pages you want to rotate. Leave the text box empty to rotate every page in the document.

Choose the rotation angle: 90°, 180°, or 270°. The tool applies that angle to the pages you specified. There are no settings to adjust—just the file, the page list, and the angle.

Once you start, the rotation is applied. The tool runs completely inside the browser tab; nothing is uploaded, and the working copy is discarded when you close the tab.

04 / WHAT HAPPENS TO YO

What Happens to Your File

The engine that performs the rotation is PDF code running in your browser tab itself. The file is never uploaded to a server, and no part of it is stored. Closing the tab removes the local working copy from memory.

Because the processing happens locally, the speed depends on your device and the size of the PDF. The tool shows no percentage while it works, but it will complete the task in a short time for most files.

05 / UNDERSTANDING THE

Understanding the Rotation Angle

The angle you choose is added to whatever rotation a page already has. For example, if a page is already rotated 90° clockwise, applying 180° will make it 270° clockwise from the original. This behavior is expected: the tool adjusts the page's rotation metadata, not the visual content physically.

If you need to fix a page that appears upside down or sideways, determine the current orientation and choose the angle that brings it to the correct view. A 90° rotation turns a portrait page to landscape, and 270° reverses that. 180° flips it upside down.

06 / PAGE SELECTION AND

Page Selection and File Requirements

You can specify pages using standard syntax: individual numbers, ranges (e.g., 1-5), or a combination separated by commas (e.g., 1-3,8,11-15). The tool accepts one PDF file, up to 50 MB, and up to 500 pages. These limits are checked in your browser before processing starts.

If you leave the page selection box empty, every page in the document is rotated. That's convenient when you need to rotate the entire PDF, for example if every page is sideways.

07 / IF THE RESULT LOOK

If the Result Looks Wrong

If the rotated pages appear incorrect, check the page selection and the angle. Remember that the angle is added to an existing rotation. If a page had a 90° rotation already, applying 90° will make it 180°—not 0°. To undo a rotation, apply the opposite angle (e.g., 90° to undo 270°).

The tool does not return warning codes. If something goes wrong, the most likely causes are either the file exceeds the limits or the page selection syntax is invalid. Ensure the file is a standard PDF and that your page numbers are within 1 and 500.

08 / PRIVACY AND RETENT

Privacy and Retention

Because your file never leaves your browser, you retain full control over your document. No copy is stored on any server, and closing the tab deletes the working copy from your device's memory. This makes the tool suitable for sensitive documents that you prefer not to upload elsewhere.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I rotate a PDF without uploading it?

Yes. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab using PDF code. Your file is never uploaded to a server, so it stays on your device. After you close the tab, no copy remains.

What is the maximum file size or number of pages?

Each PDF can be up to 50 MB and up to 500 pages. These limits are checked in your browser before processing begins. Larger files are not accepted.

How do I rotate only certain pages?

Type the page numbers in the text box, using ranges like 1-5 and commas for separate pages, e.g., 1-3,7,10-12. Leave the box empty if you want to rotate every page.

Will rotating a PDF reduce its quality?

No. The rotation is applied to the page's orientation metadata, not by re-encoding the content. The visual quality of the PDF remains unchanged.

Why is my PDF not rotating the way I expect?

The angle you choose is added to any rotation the page already has. For example, if a page is already 90° clockwise, applying 90° more will make it 180°. Check the existing orientation and adjust the angle accordingly.

Can I rotate a PDF file that is password protected?

The tool does not handle password-protected PDFs beyond what standard PDF readers allow. If you cannot open the PDF normally, it likely won't process.

Does this tool work on my phone or tablet?

Yes, as long as your browser supports running PDF code locally. The tool works in any modern browser, whether on a desktop, laptop, or mobile device.
