Extract PDF pages

Need just a few pages from a larger PDF? This tool copies the pages you specify into a new file. It runs entirely in your browser tab, so your document is never uploaded anywhere.

03 / HOW TO EXTRACT PAG

How to extract pages from a PDF

Select the PDF you want to work with. The file must be a PDF, up to 50 MB in size, and no more than 500 pages – these limits are checked in your browser before any processing starts.

In the text box, type the pages you want to extract. Use a list or ranges, such as 1,3-5. This means page 1, and pages 3 through 5. Press the button to start extraction. The tool has no settings to change, so there's nothing to configure.

Because the tool runs in your browser tab, the whole process happens locally. Your file is never uploaded, so nothing is stored on a server. Closing the tab after you're done discards the temporary working copy.

04 / WHAT HAPPENS TO YO

What happens to your file

The extraction is performed by PDF code running inside your browser tab itself. The tool reads the PDF, selects the pages you requested, and creates a new PDF containing only those pages. Your original file is not modified.

Since nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side processing. The file never leaves your device. This means you don't have to worry about your document being stored on someone else's system – once you close the tab, the working copy is gone.

05 / COMMON ERRORS AND

Common errors and how to avoid them

Two rules are enforced by the tool. First, you must enter pages as a list or ranges, for example 1,3-5. Using other formats may cause an error. Second, you cannot list the same page twice. For instance, entering 1,1 or 1-2,2 is not allowed.

If you try to extract a page number that does not exist in the document, or the file exceeds the size or page limits, the tool will not run. Instead, you'll see an error message. The tool does not return warning codes – it simply fails, and you can adjust your input or file and try again.

06 / WHAT THIS TOOL DOE

What this tool does not do

This tool only copies whole pages. It cannot crop, rotate, or edit content within a page. If you need to remove a section from a page, this is not the right tool.

There is no preview pane, no drag-and-drop reordering, and no progress bar. The tool runs in the tab and shows no percentage while it works. You simply enter the page numbers and wait for the new PDF to be ready.

07 / WHAT IF THE RESULT

What if the result looks wrong?

If the extracted PDF does not contain the pages you expected, double-check the page numbers and ranges you typed. Remember that ranges are inclusive: 3-5 includes pages 3, 4, and 5. If you asked for pages 1,3-5 and got pages 1, 3, 4, and 5, that's correct.

If the extracted pages are out of order, review your input. The tool preserves the order you list them, so writing 5-3 will not give you pages in reverse – it will treat it as a range from 3 to 5. To extract pages in a custom order, you would need to extract multiple times and merge, but this tool only extracts once.

FAQ

Common questions

Will extracted pages lose quality?

No. The tool copies the original page content without re-encoding, so the extracted pages retain the same quality as the source. The text, images, and layout are unchanged.

What file sizes and page counts are allowed?

Each PDF must be up to 50 MB and up to 500 pages. These limits are checked in your browser. If your file exceeds them, the tool will not run.

Can I extract non-consecutive pages?

Yes. Type a list like 1,3,5 or use a combination like 1,3-5. Separate numbers with commas and use hyphens for ranges. Each page can only be listed once.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The entire extraction runs in your browser tab. Your file is never uploaded, so it is not stored on any server. Closing the tab discards the working copy.

Why do I get an error when I type the same page twice?

The tool does not allow duplicate pages in the extraction list. For example, '1,1' or '1-2,2' will cause an error. Remove the duplicate and try again.

Can I extract pages in reverse order?

No. The tool treats ranges as ascending. Typing '5-3' will be interpreted as '3-5', so the extracted pages will be in original document order. There is no option to reverse.
