PDF forms

This tool lets you fill an existing PDF form or create your own text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns, and signature fields. It runs entirely inside your browser tab, so your file is never uploaded or stored. Ideal for quick edits without sending sensitive documents to a server.

    03 / FILL AN EXISTING F

    Fill an Existing Form

If you have a PDF that already contains interactive form fields, the tool detects them and shows a list. You type your answers into the box provided for each field, and the tool saves your entries directly to the PDF.

This works for forms like job applications, tax worksheets, or any document with text boxes, checkboxes, or dropdowns created by another program.

    04 / CREATE FORM FIELDS

    Create Form Fields from Scratch

When your PDF has no interactive fields, you can create them. Type the field name, choose the type from text, checkbox, radio, dropdown, or signature, and click the page where the field should appear. Each field is placed at a fixed size.

For radio buttons, you need at least two options. For dropdowns, at least one option. Options are typed as a comma-separated list.

You can create between 1 and 200 fields per document. Each field name must be at most 64 characters and can only contain letters, digits, dots, dashes, or underscores.

    05 / SIGNATURE FIELDS A

Signature Fields Are for Signing, Not Digital Certificates

A signature field created here is a blank box where someone types their name or draws with a mouse or finger. It is not a digital signature and carries no certificate. If you need a legally binding digital signature based on encryption, use a dedicated e-signature product.

06 / WHAT HAPPENS TO YO

    What Happens to Your File?

The tool does not upload your PDF anywhere. The file is processed entirely within your browser tab using PDF code running locally. Because nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored on a server. If you close the tab, the working copy is discarded.

There is a file size limit of 50 MB and a page limit of 500 pages. The browser checks these limits before the tool starts, so a file over the limits won't be processed.

07 / THINGS TO WATCH OU

    Things to Watch Out For

This tool works only on PDF files, one at a time. It has no settings to adjust—the behavior is fixed.

If you fill a form, the text you enter must fit the existing field size; there is no auto-shrink. For created fields, the fixed size means long text may overlap other content.

When you close the tab, your work is gone. Save the resulting PDF before closing, or you'll lose your changes.

    08 / IF SOMETHING GOES

    If Something Goes Wrong

The tool enforces the limits and rules above. If you exceed 200 fields, use an invalid field name, or list fewer than two radio options, you'll get an error and the field won't be placed. There are no warning codes; the tool just stops and tells you what the problem is.

If a PDF seems not to have fields, make sure it is actually a PDF with interactive fields. Scanned documents are images and won't have fillable fields that this tool can detect.

If the result looks wrong, check that you placed fields where you intended and that the text length is appropriate. You cannot reposition fields after placing them.

    FAQ

    Common questions

Will this tool reduce the quality of my PDF?

No. The tool edits the PDF structure in your browser without re-encoding images or content. Your file remains as sharp as before. No processing beyond the added fields or text occurs.

Can I use this tool on a file larger than 50 MB?

No. The tool checks the file size in your browser and will not process files over 50 MB. Similarly, PDFs with more than 500 pages are not supported. You can reduce the file size or split the PDF before using the tool.

Why are my radio buttons not working?

A radio group requires at least two options. If you type a single option, the tool will not place the field. Also, ensure options are separated by commas, like 'Yes,No'.

The tool says my field name is invalid. What are the rules?

Field names must be at most 64 characters and can only contain letters, digits, periods, dashes, or underscores. Spaces and special characters are not allowed. For example, 'Full_Name' is okay, but 'Full Name' is not.

Is my PDF uploaded to any server?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser tab, and no upload occurs. The file is never sent to a server, so nothing is stored. Closing the tab deletes the working copy from memory.

Can I add more than 200 fields to a PDF?

No. The tool limits you to 200 fields per document. This is enforced to keep the PDF compact and ensure compatibility.

How do I create a signature field that is a real digital signature?

This tool only creates empty boxes where you can type or draw. It does not apply certificates or digital signatures. For legally binding signatures, use a dedicated e-signature service that issues certificates.
