Reorder PDF pages

Need to rearrange the pages of a PDF file? Type the page numbers in the order you want them, and the tool builds a new PDF with every page exactly where you put it. The whole process happens in this tab – your file never leaves your device.

03 / HOW TO REORDER PDF

How to reorder PDF pages

Open the tool in your browser and select the PDF file you want to change. The file can be up to 50 MB and contain up to 500 pages; the tool checks these limits right here in your browser before doing anything.

In the single text box, type the new page order as a comma-separated list of page numbers. For example, to move page 3 to the front, then pages 1 and 2, you would enter 3,1,2.

After you enter the order, the tool creates a new PDF with the pages arranged exactly as you typed. Because everything runs inside your browser tab, no copy of your file is uploaded or stored. When you close the tab, the working copy is discarded.

04 / WHAT HAPPENS TO YO

What happens to your file

This tool does its work entirely inside the browser tab you have open. The PDF is processed by code that runs locally, so the file itself is never transmitted over the internet. Nothing is uploaded, which means nothing is stored on any server.

If you close the tab or refresh the page, the working copy of your document is gone. To keep the reordered file, download it before you leave the page.

05 / WHAT THE TOOL REQU

What the tool requires – and why

The new order must include every page of the document exactly once. You cannot type a partial list like 3,1 and expect only those pages to appear. The tool refuses an incomplete order because its purpose is to rearrange pages, not to remove them.

This rule means you need to know the total number of pages in your file. If your PDF has five pages, your list must contain the numbers 1 through 5 in some order. If you try 3,1,2, the tool will not process it.

There are no other settings to adjust. The entire interface is a single text box for the new page order – there are no page thumbnails, nothing to drag, and no hidden options to configure.

06 / IF THE RESULT IS N

If the result is not what you expected

Double‑check the order you typed. A common mistake is to list the original page numbers rather than the desired final order. For example, if you have a 10‑page document and you want page 8 to come first, type 8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10 – not 10,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.

Re‑open the original file and count the pages to make sure you included every number. The tool gives no warning codes, so if nothing happens, review your list for missing or repeated numbers.

When you download the reordered file, open it in a PDF viewer and flip through the pages to confirm the final order matches what you typed.

07 / FILE LIMITS AND FO

File limits and format notes

The tool accepts a single PDF file, up to 50 MB in size and up to 500 pages. These limits are checked in your browser before the reorder runs, so you will know immediately if your file is too large or too long.

There is no progress percentage shown while the tool works; the page simply waits until the new PDF is ready. For very large files (close to 500 pages), this may take a little time, but the tool will still complete the task in your browser tab.

FAQ

Common questions

Will my PDF be uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs entirely inside your browser tab. The file is processed locally and never uploaded, so no copy is stored on any server. Closing the tab discards the working copy.

Can I remove pages while reordering?

No. The tool only rearranges pages. You must include every page number in the document exactly once in your new order. To remove pages, you need a different tool that deletes or extracts pages.

What does '3,1,2' mean in the text box?

It is an example of a new page order. It tells the tool to make page 3 the first page, then page 1, then page 2. You replace it with your own comma-separated list that covers every page of your PDF.

My file is larger than 50 MB. Can I still reorder it?

No. The tool is limited to PDFs up to 50 MB and 500 pages. If your file exceeds these limits, you will need to reduce its size or split it into smaller parts before reordering.

Why doesn't the tool show a progress bar?

The tool does not display a percentage or a progress bar. It simply processes the file in your browser and then provides the reordered PDF when it is ready. Be patient, especially with large files.

What happens if I type an incomplete list like '3,1'?

The tool will refuse to process it because every page must appear in the new order exactly once. Check the total number of pages in your PDF and include every number from 1 to that total.
